Cica is a nickname for its scientific name centella asiatica, and is also referred to as gotu kola, Indian Pennywort and tiger grass. The Calming Snail line uses a filtrate from the rich mucus of apple snails. Usually secreted in periods of stress, such as when their shells break, this mucus is a great ally in the repair of the broken and damaged skin barrier. The weakly acidic formula is around the ideal pH 4,5 to 6,5 for skin cells and it restores a healthy pH balance that can be lost by cleaning agents.
Alongside lemon and orange extracts, the Pure Calming Snail Toner Pad contains PHA, a mild peeling ingredient that will help you get rid of dead skin cells. For that effect, this toner can even be used in dry elbows and knees.
